Third Day

Third Day

Soil, land use, minerals and energy resources.

The soil in the Amazon is not good for farming because there are a lot of plants underneath it. The majority of the people grow trees that have fruits like guaraná, cacao, açaí, cupuaçu, etc. There are a lot of economic activities, including, tourism, hunting, farming and petroleum. The resources are animals like fish, fruits and petroleum. The types of energy found are mostly hydroelectric because of the rivers. There is also solar power. Those energy resources get energy from the water and from the sun.

What we did on day 3.
We woke up at 5:30 in the morning. At 7:00 we had breakfast, there were biscuits, bread, watermelon, we and drank coffee with milk. Later on we learned to make fire and then we packed and started to go to hotel. In the way we learned how to see which fruit is poisonous and how to make traps. We got back to the hotel and had lunch. At 3:00 we went fishing, I only fished one fish. After that we went to the Indian tribe and they made us a presentation.

After that we came to the hotel, worked in our group, had dinner and we went to sleep. After having slept last night on the hammock we thought the bed was the most comfortable bed ever.

                   Reflection: on the jungle sleep.

We were afraid because the guides had told us stories about giant snakes. We felt very privileged to have this opportunity to sleep in the jungle. So little people have the opportunity to sleep in hammocks in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.
